World famous actress and comedian has died today at the age of 46 after her battle with cancer

The world is mourning the loss of artist and comedian Erica Ash, who passed away at the age of 46 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Throughout her career, Erica graced a number of sketch comedy shows and became a beloved figure on the Starz sitcom Survivor’s Remorse. She also appeared on MADtvThe Big Gay Sketch ShowIn Contempt, and BET’s Real Husbands of Hollywood, a faux-reality show that showcased her comedic brilliance. Additionally, Erica’s film credits include Outlaw Johnny BlackScary Movie V, and We Have a Ghost, among others.

Erica’s family confirmed her passing after a long illness, releasing a heartfelt statement that celebrated her life and legacy:

“Erica was a wonderful woman and a skilled performer who made many people laugh and smile with her sharp wit and genuine zest for life,” her family said. “We will remember her forever in our hearts.”
The announcement has prompted an outpouring of tributes from friends and celebrities who admired her talent and spirit.

The Real star and TV host Loni Love expressed her sorrow in a social media post, stating:

“Sad to confirm my friend and fellow actress Erica Ash’s passing,” Loni shared on X (formerly Twitter). “Erica was smart and funny. She gave her all to her work, whether it was for Survivor’s Remorse or MadTV. She was always there, but she’s gone now. I’m very sorry for her family’s loss.”
BET also shared a touching tribute on Instagram, extending their condolences:
“We send our deepest condolences and love to her parents, siblings, friends, and family,” the post read. “Fly high Queen.”
Many others in the entertainment industry have expressed their grief and shared fond memories of Erica. Actress Niecy Nash posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, recalling a recent exchange with Erica:
“Rest Well Pretty Girl 🕊️❤️ @theericaash,” she wrote alongside a photo of them together. “The last thing you texted me was, ‘I’m gonna make you my #wcw.’ Then we had a good laugh. We will miss you! Thanks for making me laugh! My deepest condolences go out to your family and loved ones.”

Shannon Mack, host of the YouTube talk show Pedis & Mimosas, shared a touching memory of Erica’s appearance on her show:
“Getting a call at 8:30 this morning to tell me that @theericaash had died was not the news I wanted to hear.” Shannon wrote. “Erica had a real heart and was so sweet and funny. I still can’t believe she’s not here.”
