Ingredients

2 cups of whole milk

1 cup of heavy cream

1 cup of granulated sugar

1/2 cup of corn flour

Medium spoon of salt.

1 spoon of vanilla essence.

1 cup of shredded coconut, sweetened or unsweetened.

1/4 cup of toasted shredded coconut (optional, for garnish).

Directions

Step one: Prepare the basic custard.

In a medium saucepan, combine whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.

Whisk over medium heat until thickened, making sure there are no lumps.

When thickened, remove the fire and add the vanilla extract.

Step 2: Add the coconut.

Add the shredded coconut to the custard and stir until well combined.

Pour the mixture into a glass baking dish and spread evenly.
