  1. White vinegar
    Also called household alcohol, white vinegar is a very useful household cleaning product. Smart cleaning advocates use this natural product for a variety of household tasks such as descaling and shining taps, cleaning a kettle, removing mildew from bathroom tiles and many other household chores. To clean stains from your mattress, stain remover can be your best ally.

For this you will need:

500ml white vinegar
200 ml lukewarm water
2 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid
Mix the ingredients together, soak a clean sponge with this liquid and wring it out before rubbing it all over the surface of the mattress. Then rinse with another dampened and wrung out sponge. Finish the cleaning by rubbing the mattress with a dry cloth or microfibre cloth to absorb as much moisture as possible and let the mattress dry in the sun if possible.

30 ml of hydrogen peroxide

Mix the two ingredients together and use an old toothbrush to scrub the areas affected by the dirt. Then remove the excess cleaning product with a damp cloth and leave to dry in a well-ventilated place.

It’s simple, talcum powder has an absorbent capacity and it eliminates bad smells thanks to its sweet and subtle fragrance. How to get an optimal drying of your mattress?
After meticulously cleaning your mattress, you still need to make sure it’s completely dry before using it again. And for good reason, a mattress that is not completely dry can retain moisture and contain mould that can be harmful to your health.

For these reasons, cleaning should begin in the morning to allow the mattress to dry during the day. Rub clean spots with a clean bath towel and let dry outside if you can. Otherwise, open the bedroom window to let the sun and fresh air in. Finally, to perfect the drying process, use a hairdryer to remove all traces of moisture and only make the bed again at night before going to sleep, making sure the mattress is thoroughly dry.

For a mattress to ensure comfort during your sleep, it must be of good quality. It is a good investment that will guarantee you a good night’s sleep. And to make it last longer, regular maintenance is a must.

Don’t wait for stains to set into the mattress to clean it. Instead of procrastinating, clean it with the tips mentioned above as soon as the first dirt appears;
Air the room daily, making sure to put your sheets, pillows and pillowcases in the sun or outdoors for at least fifteen minutes to let your mattress breathe;
Vacuum 2 to 3 times a month to remove dust, hair debris and dead skin that can attract dust mites;
Invert the head and foot of the mattress every three months so that the mattress does not warp. It should also be turned over twice a year;
Take the mattress outside for a few hours, if possible, in good weather. The mattress will be able to breathe on both sides and the sun’s rays, with their disinfectant properties, will clean it.
