My Blood Froze When I Opened My Husband’s Drawer the Day after Moving in with Him

Freya was overjoyed to begin her new life with George at his family’s enchanting estate. However, soon after moving in, Valerie, the maid, gave Freya an icy glare and later sent a cryptic message to Freya’s phone: “Check your husband’s drawer. The top left one, specifically. Then RUN!”

Curiosity and dread gnawing at her, Freya opened the drawer to find love letters and a key. The letters, written by George to a woman named Elena, spoke of a deep, enduring love and detailed plans for their future together. The final letter was shockingly dated just three days before George proposed to Freya. The key led Freya to a dusty attic, filled with photographs of George and Elena, and an ultrasound image of their unborn baby.

Valerie later revealed, “Elena is my sister.” She explained how George had abandoned Elena upon learning their baby had Down syndrome, viewing them as a burden. George’s sister confirmed the attic had always been his favorite room, a place where he kept memories of Elena hidden away.

Determined to uncover the truth, Freya, with Valerie’s support, confronted George’s family. “Is this true?” George’s father demanded. George’s guilty silence spoke volumes. The family’s response was swift and decisive; George was disinherited, with his share redirected to support Elena and her child.

Freya was granted a divorce and received the assets intended for George. She used these funds to establish a foundation for children with disabilities, managed by Valerie and supported by George’s mother. Through this foundation, Freya transformed her heartbreak into a mission of hope, ensuring that her painful discovery led to positive change for others.
