  • Add a few drops of tea tree essential oil
  • Mix again then pour the solution into the bowl
  • Leave on for 20 minutes to 1 hour
  • Flush the toilet. The lime stains should be gone.

With baking soda and citric acid as the main ingredient in the anti-limescale recipe, descale your bathrooms without having to run out! The icing on the cake, your toilets benefit from the pleasant smell and antibacterial power of the essential tea tree oil   !
The white vinegar method for cleaning bathrooms
It’s hard to miss this essential cleaning product proving its effectiveness in several household tasks. And toilet descaling is no exception! If you have a thin layer of limescale, white vinegar is enough to dissolve it and at the same time disinfect the affected walls. You will see, the solution is as easy as the other. Only difference, you will scrub a little more. But not enough to build muscle anyway!

  • Dilute 1 part white vinegar in 2 parts hot water
  • Pour the vinegar solution into a spray bottle
  • Spray the solution directly onto the sides of the bowl
  • Leave to act for 2 or 3 hours
  • Gently scrub the walls with a sponge or  a toilet brush .
  • Flush the toilet and, if necessary, repeat the operation.

Again, you can take advantage of the  deodorizing power of baking soda  in case you have unpleasant odors. Although white vinegar already fulfills this role, baking soda can be a complementary addition that ensures a toilet completely free of unpleasant odors. Just sprinkle the baking soda on the areas affected by tartar and let it sit all day. Once downloaded it should give a good result.

It’s also worth mentioning that it may be easier to apply these tricks if you empty the water from the bowl first. This way,  the ingredients will have more effect.
How to clean a very encrusted toilet?
Although the solutions already mentioned may be sufficient to remove limescale, it may be necessary to make a little more effort in the case of a very calcified bowl. But then again, you don’t have to make the effort of a fighter. You can count on sandpaper and a little parsimony on your part,  and in a few minutes you will have removed stubborn tartar. Here’s how:

  • Choose the degree of roughness of the sandpaper based on the hardness of the limestone deposit.
  • Gently scrape away any limescale buildup using light sandpaper
  • Once the surface deposit has been removed, you can move on to rough sandpaper to smooth out any limescale residue.
  • Flush toilet
  • Apply the white vinegar trick or the citric acid/baking soda trick.

You will see from these tricks that the true principle is based above all on a methodical state of mind. And the most important? A regular cleaning rhythm so that limescale doesn’t have time to settle on the walls of your bathrooms! After all, it’s all about your cleaning attitude.
