Hands down, one of my favorite party appetizers!

– Chopped parsley or chives for garnish

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. Place each Kielbasa sausage on a chopping board. Make diagonal cuts every half inch along the sausage, slicing almost but not entirely through.
3. Brush each sausage with olive oil. If you’re using smoked paprika, mix it with the oil before brushing it on to evenly distribute the flavor.
4. Season with salt and pepper according to your preference.
5. Arrange the sausages on a baking tray and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the skin is crisped to your liking.
6. Remove the Kielbasa Bites from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
7. Garnish with parsley or chives for a pop of color and freshness before placing them on a serving platter.

Variations & Tips:

For a spicy kick, sprinkle your Kielbasa with a bit of cayenne pepper or your favorite spicy seasoning before baking. If you’re catering to a more adventurous palate, incorporating a brushing of maple syrup or a drizzle of balsamic reduction before the final minutes in the oven can add an unexpected twist to these bites.

Whatever the variation, keep in mind the Hasselback technique is versatile – it’s both a cooking method and a canvas for creativity. A small tip: after making the cuts, gently fan the slices to ensure your chosen seasonings make their way into every succulent bite. Enjoy crafting your Hasselback Kielbasa Bites – the joy is in the making as much as the tasting.
