glazed Ham Steak

Make the brown sugar glaze on the stovetop in a small pan
Add the steak to the grill over direct heat and baste the top with the honey mustard glaze. Once basted, flip and baste the other side. Close the lid and cook for about 4 minutes. While the steak is cooking, take a few quick peeks and ensure the fire is not flaring up. Now flip once again and baste the top. Again, close the lid and cook for about 4 minutes.

Pro Tips

The ham steaks cut with bone-in are the most tender and have the best flavor.
You can substitute pure maple syrup for the honey.
Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste, but easy on the salt because ham is cured with salt.
Keep an eye on the grill to avoid any flare-ups.
Leftovers are great in soup recipes like Split Pea Soup Recipe and Ham and Bean Soup.
Store leftovers in a large zipper bag or airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave at reduced power for short increments until warm.
