Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sauce:
    • Combine honey, minced garlic, and soy sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil.
    • Mix cornstarch and cold water in a small bowl until smooth, then stir into the saucepan. Continue to stir until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.

    • In another bowl, beat eggs with water.
    • Dip each chicken piece first into the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly with the flour mixture.
  3. Cook the Chicken:
    • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add chicken pieces and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Combine and Serve:
    • Toss the fried chicken pieces in the honey garlic sauce until well coated.
    • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Variations and Substitutions

1. Protein Alternatives:

  • Tofu: For a vegetarian option, firm tofu can be used in place of chicken. Press the tofu to remove excess water, then cut into cubes and follow the same breading and frying steps.
  • Shrimp: For a seafood twist, shrimp can be a delightful substitute. Ensure they are peeled and deveined, and adjust frying time to avoid overcooking.
