Country performer Rory Feek remarries eight years after the death of his wife, Joey

Rory Feek has remarried, thanks in part to his daughter, Indiana.

The 59-year-old country music singer and composer said that eight years after the loss of his singing partner and wife, Joey Feek, he walked down the aisle again to marry his partner and instructor, Rebecca, on Sunday, July 14.

Feek said in a blog post that the couple married “under a beautiful timber-frame pavilion” in Greycliff, Montana. His and Joey’s 10-year-old daughter attended the wedding, as did numerous close friends and family members.

He also surprised the bride with a song he wrote for her, “I Do,” in which he expressed how much her love meant to him and how fortunate he was to have met her.

The accompanying music video for the song featured scenes from the couple’s modest wedding, such as the bride coming in a long-sleeved lace wedding gown with her hair in an elegant updo and a floor-length veil cascading from her. The artist, clad in a red velvet vest over a white button-up shirt and beige pants, stood beside her at the altar before shocking her with the song.

“I found myself thinking about how blessed I was to be given the opportunity to love again,” he stated, explaining the song’s inspiration. “To not only feel loved, but to have the opportunity to offer love again. I aspire to dedicate my life to making Rebecca happy.

Feek took up his guitar and began serenading Rebecca in front of their wedding party, causing her to beam broadly and cry. The minister performed the remainder of the ceremony while the pair gazed warmly into each other’s eyes and held hands after he concluded his song.

Feek and Rebecca sealed the deal with a final kiss, then headed over to celebrate with Indiana, who was a bridesmaid, and gave her a nice embrace. The devoted father claimed in his blog post that his daughter encouraged him to remarry.

He explained that, while he had formed love for Rebecca, his daughter only saw her as a “school teacher and friend,” so he “waited and watched to see” Indiana’s reaction to their connection. Then, one day in March, everything changed when his daughter wanted to tell him something significant.

“I asked Indy, and she told me that she said, ‘Ms. Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa,’” he reported. ” Then, Indy glanced at me and uttered, “I informed Miss Rebecca that my mother has been absent for a considerable amount of time. If she weds you, she could potentially become my new mother.”

“As I wiped away some tears, I told her I thought that was a wonderful idea,” he said, adding that they started arranging their wedding soon after.
