Cheesy Pull-Apart Bread

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (reserved for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Stir the sugar and warm milk together in a small dish to activate the yeast. Let it sit until it starts to foam, which should take around 5 to 10 minutes.
  2. To make the dough, put the salt and flour into a large bowl and stir to incorporate. Pour in the melted yeast mixture, the egg, and the butter. Stir until a ball is formed. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 8 to 10 minutes until it becomes elastic and smooth.
  3. For the first rise, place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover with a clean dish towel and set aside until it has doubled in size, which should take about an hour in a warm spot.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix together the mozzarella, cheddar, Parmesan, minced garlic, and chopped parsley.
  5. To form the dough, punch it down and then spread it out on a floured surface into a large rectangular shape. Distribute the cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
  6. Create the bread by first slicing the dough into thin strips, and then into squares. Arrange the squares in a greased loaf pan by stacking them on top of one another until the pan is full.
  7. For the second rise, cover the loaf pan with a kitchen towel and let the dough rise for about 30 minutes while the oven preheats to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Before baking, brush the melted butter over the dough. Bake for 30–35 minutes in a preheated oven until the cheese bubbles and the bread becomes golden.
  9. Let the bread cool slightly before serving. Enjoy the warm, cheesy, pull-apart bread by sharing it with your loved ones.
