Cake inspired by Elvis Presley

Prepare the cake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, crushed pineapple with juice, vegetable oil, and eggs. Beat on medium speed until smooth and well combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool slightly.
Prepare the topping: While the cake is cooling, in a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Once it reaches a boil, continue to cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
Finish the cake: Remove the topping from the heat and stir in the shredded coconut and chopped pecans. Pour the warm topping over the slightly cooled cake, spreading it evenly.
Cool and serve: Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing and serving. Enjoy this rich, flavorful cake inspired by The King himself!
