“Ah-mazing recipe! My kids said it’s one of the best dinners I’ve ever made.

This hearty and comforting casserole combines the flavors of a classic meatloaf with creamy mashed potatoes and melted cheese. The addition of bacon adds a smoky, salty crunch that complements the rich flavors of the other ingredients.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Leftover (garlic) mashed potatoes 3 cups
Lean ground beef 1 pound
White onion, finely chopped 1/2 cup
Garlic, minced 3 cloves
Brown sugar 2 tablespoons
Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon
Italian breadcrumbs 1 cup
Large egg 1
Sharp cheddar cheese, grated 1 1/2 cups
Bacon, cooked and crumbled (or bacon bits) 1/3 cup
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper To taste

Instructions:

    1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    2. Combine the meatloaf ingredients in a large bowl. Mix until well incorporated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    3. Transfer the meatloaf mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread evenly.
  1. Spoon the mashed potatoes over the meatloaf. Spread evenly.
  2. Top with cheese and bacon.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Cool and serve.
