Ingredients: For the Filling:

  • 2/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 cup scallions, chopped
  • 2 10-ounce cartons frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten

For the Braid:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry dough, thawed
  • 1 egg yolk mixed with water for egg wash
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions: Preparing the Filling:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion and scallions until tender.
  2. Add squeezed dry spinach, chopped dill, salt, and pepper. Cook until well blended and excess liquid evaporates. Allow to cool briefly.
  3. Once cooled, combine the cooked mixture with beaten egg, shredded mozzarella, and crumbled feta.
